
Asian Heritage Exhibition:

The Canadian Senate and Parliament have declared the month of May as Asian Heritage Month in recognition and acknowledgement of the long and rich history of Asian-Canadians.
The Asian Heritage Society of New Brunswick – Saint John Chapter working team is planning a series of events throughout May to celebrate our heritage.
We request your contribution and participation – come and join us for some fun!

Asian Heritage Gala:
When: May 8th, Friday, 6 – 8:30pm
Where: Atrium of Market Square
What: Cultural Performance, public speech by Senator Poy, cake celebration, …
Admission: free
Asian Cultural Workshop*:
When: May 17th, Sunday, 2 – 4pm
Where: New Brunswick Museum, Mary Oland Theatre
Open to public
* On each Sunday in May, there will be workshops or film series at the NB Museum theatre, themed specifically on one Asian ethnic group. The Chinese Cultural Association of Saint John will have a music, dance, and arts workshop/demo on May 17, Sunday. This is a call for talents of all kinds and all age groups to submit your entries: Songs, poems, dance, instruments, arts, etc. Please contact Ms. Wenmei Li (wli@unbsj.ca, 721-1589) or Dr. Li-Hong Xu (lxu@unb.ca, 648-5632) for your entry. We especially encourage our talented children and family’s participation in the May 17th’s workshop. Whether you perform or not, all members are welcome to participate in the showcase at the NB Museum Theatre. We look forward to seeing you all!
