The event is free to all the members of the association and will be held outdoor at Rockwood park Fisher Lake First Arch area where everyone can have a chance to mingle with each other and enjoy the beautiful summer by BBQ and playing games.

Free entry, free burger, bans and drink are provided. You are more than welcome to prepare and bring some your own food. In case of rain or high wind, the event will be rescheduled.

The annual Saint John Dragon Boat Festival falls on August 25th. As in previous years, the organizing committee arranges a boat for the Chinese Cultural Association again this year. Now the association is recruiting 20 paddlers (at least 8 women) and a drummer.

2012年5月是加拿大政府将每年5月定为亚洲传统月10周年。今年的庆祝开幕式将于5月6日下午2点在Market Square内举行。5月27日下午7点将有专场表演。地点为Centre Samuel de Champlain (67 Ragged Point Rd, Saint John) 。5月份在New Brunswick博物馆也将有亚洲文化教育及艺术展览。

2012 marks the 10 year anniversary of May as the Asian Heritage Month as officially declared by the Government of Canada in May, 2012.

Asian Heritage Cultural Gala is to be held at Centre Samuel de Champlain (67 Ragged Point Rd, Saint John) on May 27, 2012 at 7:00pm. Public are invited to join us for this special celebration. Addmissoin is free.

The Opening Ceremony of 2012 Asian Heritage Month celebration will be held at Atrium of the Market Square, on May 6, 2012 at 2:00pm. New Brunswick Museum will also have an Asian Heritage Educational, Cultural & Arts Exhibition in May.

4月15日下午，我们中华文化协会，经多元文化中心宋丽女士引荐，应帝国剧院主办方邀请，在帝国剧院预展大厅设置了两个展位，由徐丹，于淼两位艺术高手，代表协会参加了此次活动，展出了她们的作品以及协会的标志和部分宣传品。深受在场友人的欢迎，为宣传中华文化起到了推动作用。

Chinese Cultural Association of Saint John Promotes the Chinese Culture through a variety of Programs.

On the afternoon of April 15th, introduced by Ms Li Song from the Saint John Multicultural and Newcomers Resource Centre, the Chinese Cultural Association was invited by the Imperial Theater- the organizer to set up two booths in the Pre-show Lobby Bazaar of the Imperial Theater. Masters of Art, Dan Xu and Miao Yu, participated in the event on behalf of the association. They displayed some of their works, association’s logo, as well as some publicity materials. Their work and effort were highly praised by the presence of guests and played an important role for promoting the Chinese culture.

Good day. We would like to inform you, that the $3,000 annual champaign fund the Association received from the Saint John Community Arts Funding Program has been suspended due to the global economic conditions, therefore the Cultural Affairs Office had to stop sponsoring all associations in the city.

Now the Association is facing a severe situation of lack of funding support. It would be great if all of us work together to brainstorm and come up with ideas that would help our association to work our way towards the future and build up a good image of the local Chinese community. Your support means everything to us! We are looking forward to hearing from you. All ideas are appreciated!

The Chinese Cultural Association of Saint John will hold a potluck dinner at 5:30pm on Saturday, April 28th, 2012 at Stone Church, family and friends are welcome to attend. Every attendee is asked to bring a potluck dish to share, and the Chinese Cultural Association will provide fruits and beverages. After dinner, directors of the Association will give an annual report on the activities that the Association participated or organized in the past year, as well as the financial status. Your supervision and suggestions for the future is sincerely appreciated.

2012 membership fee collection will be conducted on the same day. Please bring cash or personal cheque with you if you have not had the chance to pay, a dedicated director will be there to serve you. The membership fee is set to be $20 per family, $10 per individual. Thank you for your consistent support.

Chinese class winter term has already begun since two weeks ago, however new students are welcome to joint anytime.

The term has 12 weeks. $50 for member and $75 for non-member student.

Toddler’s class welcomes students between 3 and 5.
Children’s class opens to student above 5 and under 18.
Adults class receives students above 19.

And of course you will be placed to the class with students of similar level.
