Time fly fast, the current Board of Directors’ term will expire as of May 31, 2011. According to the CCASJ constitution[a], the CCASJ is due for re-election of our next Board of Directors. The current Board has met recently and discussed various matters associated with the upcoming election and Annual General Assembly. Here we wish to propose the following steps for your approval and immediate action:
Step 1: Call for nominations – We are circulating this letter as broadly as we can via email, web posting to let the CCASJ members know about the upcoming election. – We request that you nominate someone whom you think is suitable and willing to serve on the Board in the best interests of the CCASJ. Before you send in your nomination, we request that you contact the nominee to have his or her consent and to have the form signed or agreed on by additional three members to ensure that the candidate is well known to the community. You can nominate more than one candidate. – Nomination form is included. All nominations should be received by May 20/Friday via Email: info@ccasj.org or Regular mail: P.O. Box 2661, Saint John, NB E2L 4Z1 or Hand deliver: Jerry Yu (645-1910) or Xinbing Liu(333-3821).
Step 2: All received nominees will be contacted to confirm their willingness to let their names stand for election. In the case of candidates who are relatively new to our community and/or are not well known by most of the CCASJ members, we may ask candidates to circulate their brief cvs for your information.
Step 3: In case of there are more than 9 nominees, a secret voting will be held at our Annual General Assembly on May 28/Saturday at the Stone Church. Please make every effort to attend. We strongly believe that the health of the Board directly affects our association. Hence, we request that every member consider the election as a very serious decision and actively participate in the election either by showing your willingness to serve on the Board or by electing someone whom you think will truly benefit our association. The CCASJ is your association. Together, we can make it a fun and proud association to which we all enthusiastically belong.
Yours truly,
